Photographic slipcase; dust jackets with spines in photographic triptych. Stone-gray boards with black spines; gilt lettering and ornaments on spine and front panels. Slipcase very solid, but shows superficial paper cracks at backside horizontal edges; upper rear slipcase corners have been slightly bumped. Books and jackets pristine, clearly unread.

Toni Morrison provides an introduction. The refreshed English translations are by Anne Milano Appel, Alessandra Bastagli, Francesco Bastagli, Jonathan Galassi, Ann Goldstein, Jenny McPhee, Michael F. Moore, Nathaniel Rich, Antony Shugaar, and Stuart Woolf.
