"Collection" of two stories for children, the first (though unattributed) by Susan Fenimore Cooper, daughter of James, and the founder of the Orphan House of the Holy Saviour in Cooperstown (see the James Fenimore Cooper Society website). Bound in charming pictorial publisher's cloth, a partly-eaten cookie smiling out at the reader. OCLC locates two copies of this edition as of September, 2020, at Catholic and Indiana State.
