A Pocket Guide to Spain
Very Good. Item #7655
Washington, D.C.: Armed Forces Information and Education, 1966. Revised Edition. Stapled pamphlet in card covers; 13.5cm x 11cm; 45pp. Includes a map and B&W photographs throughout. Endpapers display identifying features of contemporary Spanish military uniforms in color.
Small booklet given to military personnel going overseas. Explains features of the Spanish nation, its history, peoples, cultural traditions, what to seek, what to avoid, and how to behave while stationed there. Written, mind you, with a sharp eye for soldiers being . . . soldiers—but with a more relaxed and touristic tone than equivalent guides in the series first published during World War II. A short vocabulary list and bibliography is included.
Very light edgewear. No tears or marks.
