New York: Harcourt Brace and Company, 1956. Very Good / Very Good. Item #7952
New York: Harcourt Brace and Company, 1956. First U.S. Edition. Octavo. 248 pages. Illustrated dust jacket designed by Milton Glaser. Green boards stamped in silver and light green.
Price-clipped dust jacket shows light chipping with some short closed tears along edges, general rubbing, and amateur tape reinforcement to verso in four spots. Boards are lightly worn at edges but with some chipping and loss to top of spine. Slight fading over spine ends and onto boards (possibly from tape?). Spine a bit rolled. Light staining to endpapers and one pen notation at top corner of rear free endpaper. Pages otherwise unmarked. Still a very good copy in a very good jacket of Orwell's fourth novel, originally published in the UK in 1936.
