Biographical novel of a Spanish matador, selected by John Steinbeck as one of his favorite novels of the year upon publication. Conrad would go on to open the "El Matador" nightclub in San Francisco, an experience which he would write about in his memoir, Name Dropping.

Price-clipped dust jacket is lightly chipped and rubbed along edges. Boards show light wear to extremities and bottom of spine is nudged. Binding is sound and pages unmarked.
