Fine. Item #8724
Washington, D.C.: [Artisanal], [1990s]. Unique copy. Pristine. Octavo (20x15cm); 86 leaves (172pp). Leather in full-grain aniline crimson. Front panel blind-embossed with the tarot image of Astrology—"AstrologiaXXXVIIII"—from the so-called Mantegna Tarocchi. Embossed rules on spine and as borders on spine and panel edges. Endpapers in comb marbling of teal, celadon, peach, and crimson. Leaves in sewn gatherings of heavy cream wove stock, unwatermarked, as for artists and calligraphers.
Note that this is not a used, vintage item. It is a Rip Van Winkle find, still as new after hibernating for around 30 years. Expertly bound, it came to us directly from the holdings of its Washington, D.C. creator.
Stitching nicely tight. Leather and paperblock spotless. Marbling sexy. There can be no handsomer vessel for your own private florilegium or cris de coeur.
