Nouvelle Édition. 12mo (18cm.); full contemporary gilt-tooled sheep, gilt spine with red gilt onlay, marbled endpapers; 396pp.; added engraved title page dated 1822, hand-colored frontispiece and three hand-colored plates. Near-unrecorded edition of the oft-reprinted pedagogical treatise by Laurent Pierre Bérenger (1749-1822), first published in 1783. We find no copies of this edition (whether under the date 1821 or 1822) in OCLC, COPAC, or KVK as of March, 2021; one copy in the trade (in France), though any copies with hand-colored plates appear to be quite rare.
