Dust jacket in black with x-ray of bronze vessel. Volume bound in sage-green linen with gilt stamping on spine and front panel. Textblock printed on heavy ivory stock. Jacket shows nano-scuffs and tears at edges; one closed tongue of paper on spine just above Smithsonian Institution medallion; all now protected in mylar. Volume pristine; textblock unmarred and unmarked.

This volume, Smithsonian Publication No. 4706, and Freer Gallery Oriental Studies No. 7, was planned as the second of a three-volume set, the first volume being a catalog of the bronzes. That first volume was published in 1967; the third volume, covering epigraphs, was never published.
