Very Good. Item #9243
Blackpool: Ellis Family, ca. 1910. Fifth Edition. Octavo (19.5cm.); photo-illustrated staple bound self-wrappers; 15pp.; illus. Light wear and foxing to extremities, small chip at spine crown, else Very Good and sound.
Oft-reprinted "Natural Drawing-Room Conjuring" how-to manual, the preface to this edition stating that twenty-seven copies have already been printed. This supposedly updated edition provides wisdom regarding magic wands ("about 18 inches long"); palming (one "must practice palming habitually"); and the art of ventriloquism. This last concludes with advice on how to mimic both an old woman's and an old man's voice ("Inflate the chest, bring the teeth together" for the former; the latter is "produced direct from the chest").
