First collection by the two-time United States Poet Laureate and co-founding editor of the small and influential literary magazine Furioso. The laid-in note reads "Dear Harold -- This is certainly a nice copy. Good to hear from you, and of course I'm glad to learn that you're still collecting. Regards, Reed 7/1/99," Harold being either Harold Mays or Harold Herman, collectively known as The Two Harolds -- a D.C. couple who lived and collected together for nearly 50 years.
