Very Good. Item #9488
Lahore and Islamabad: Niaz Ahmad Sang-e-Meel Publications and Lok Virsa Publishing House, 1995. First Edition. Octavo (24x18x1.5cm); 257pp. Five bordered line-drawings introduce each of the five tales. Entirely in English.
Illustrated front board with black lettering against metallic silver ground. Boards show some polite scuffing and a patch of shallow surface dents on the rear (suggesting use as a support under a child's sketching, perhaps), but without any breaks to surface. Textblock unmarred and unmarked with the exception of a youngster's neat quasi-acrostic, based on the name "Katie," on the rear binder's leaf.
A general introduction surveys the prevalence and chief features of Pakistani legendary figures and their traditions, followed by five celebrated folk romances.
