Jacket lightly shelfworn with a few shallow closed tears over folds at spine ends and a bit of fading to spine. Boards rather splotchily toned with a slight roll to spine, but sturdy and solid. Toning to endpapers. Binding is sound and pages unmarked.
Basis for the CBS sitcom airing from 1959-1963 starring Dwayne Hickman as the eponymous Gillis and Bob Denver as Maynard G. Krebs, television's first Beatnik. The series was notably the first major network show to feature teenagers as main characters, and was influential to the creators of the later shows Happy Days and, more directly, Scooby Doo, Where Are You, whose "gang" was based on characters from the sitcom.
