Very Good / Very Good. Item #9495

Garden City: Doubleday & Company, 1951. Stated First Edition. Octavo; 223pp. Illustrated dust jacket with $2.50 price intact; book in blue cloth with yellow lettering and illustration. Jacket lightly shelfworn with a few shallow closed tears over folds at spine ends and a bit of fading to spine. Boards rather splotchily toned with a slight roll to spine, but sturdy and solid. Basis for the CBS sitcom airing from 1959-1963 starring Dwayne Hickman as the eponymous Gillis and Bob Denver as Maynard G. Krebs, television's first Beatnik.
