Best Addresses: A Century of Washington's Distinguished Apartment Houses

Very Good / Very Good. Item #9864
ISBN: 0874744768

Washington, D.C.: Smithsonian Institution Press, 1989. Second Printing of First Edition. Quarto (31x24x5cm); xxii + 597pp, including glossary, bibliography, and index. Approximately 600 documentary photographs. Photographic dustjacket. Black cloth with gilt spine and front panel stamping.

Just short of Near Fine because of a small, narrow liquid stain, now nearly invisible, that at one time stuck the edge of the front free endpaper to the half title. Volume otherwise unmarred and unmarked.

It is amusing to consider how the best addresses often sheltered the least principled of Washington, D.C.'s great and powerful—but that's a topic for rumination not allowed past the lobby of this handsome volume.
