People often ask us where Capitol Hill Books keeps our rare books, first editions, ephemera and other material that doesn't always make it into the shop. Our Rare Book Department is in Hyattsville, Maryland in a space we share with our sister company, Bookstore Movers, and it is now open for browsing by appointment.

Browsing appointments are available for one or two people at a time for one-hour slots via the link below. You can let us know what authors, genres, or other types of material you're interested in and one of our Rare Book Specialists will be on hand to talk about your interests and pull anything we have available. We have over 6,000 items cataloged with an emphasis on Literature, Americana, and Antiquarian material, and each member of the rare book team has a wide variety of interests and specialties.
