Scarce pieces of Living Theatre ephemera promoting The Connection, a play by Jack Gelber. Directed and designed by Living Theatre co-founders Judith Malina Julian Beck, the show also featured jazz music by The Freddie Redd Quartet. The Connection earned three Obie Awards in its first year — Best New Play, Best All-Around Production, and Best Actor. It is considered to be The Living Theatre’s first great success. In 1961, it was adapted by the experimental filmmaker Shirley Clark.
