London: T. Fisher Unwin, 1895. First Edition, First Issue with missing "e" in "generosity" and "of" from bottom two lines of p. 110. Octavo (20.5cm.); publisher's green cloth, gilt-lettered spine, top edge gilt; 272pp. Binding rather inexpertly recased, spine cocked with cloth toned to tan and gilt rather dulled, corners bumped, some bubbling to front cover cloth; stock a bit toned at margins, else Good to Very Good, internally clean and sound.

Serviceable copy of Conrad's first work, centering around a penurious Dutch trader living in the Borneo jungle with his Malaysian wife and their daughter Nina.
