Two volumes; small, thick octavos; contemporary crimson goat over marbled paper-covered boards, gilt-lettered spines in six compartments, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers, original front wrappers bound in; [4],viii,803; [4],823pp.; hand-colored engraved frontispieces and eight hand-colored plates. Boards a bit scuffed at extremities with brief exposure at corners, spines darkened, textblock uniformly toned and a bit brittle due to inferior paper quality, early 20th century ex libris of C.G. and C.P. Lowe to front pastedowns; still, a Very Good, still quite attractive set, handsomely illustrated.
