Two volumes in one; 12mo (15.5cm.); full contemporary vellum retaining original endpapers; xii,216;420pp. (*6 A-I12, A-R12 S6 [Q signature missigned P]); nine folding plates of engravings, woodcut head- and tail-pieces throughout. Vellum rather stained with some loss along fore-edge of rear cover, brief contemporary notes and ownership signature to title page and preliminaries, a few plates slightly mis-folded, else a Very Good, complete and internally fresh copy. Quite uncommon edition, translated from the original French and issued during the author's lifetime. OCLC locates one copy in the United States as of June, 2018, at the NLM.
