Boards somewhat crudely reattached and restored along extremities, brief cracking to spine affecting gilt without loss of meaning, attractive contemporary calligraphic ownership inscription to front free endpaper of a Thomas Williams, mid-20th century ownership rubberstamp to front pastedown, else a Very Good copy overall.
Text opens with a short biographical preface "giving some Account of [Walter's] Life and Character," signed by Thomas Prince (1687-1758) and Thomas Foxcroft (1697-1769). The former was an especially notable member of Colonial Boston society, having first made his mark as a student at Harvard where Increase Mather recognized him as a "praying student" (see the DAB 15, p. 232-3).
