Sermon delivered in response to the fatal duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr which occurred less than a month previously. The Congregationalist minister condemns Hamilton's actions, calling attention to his hypocrisy in "disapproving malicious Duels, and yet practically justifying a polite duel" (p. 19).
