Boards full bound in grey-blue cloth with dark blue stamping. Dust jacket generally soiled, scuffed and lightly scratched with foxing to margins. Spine sunned with minor loss to spine ends. Verso foxed. Front flap sports a promotional sticker reading "A portion of the/ proceeds of this /book will be do-/nated by the /publisher to the /Damon Runyon /Memorial Fund." Board corners and spine ends bumped with shelfwear. Binding cocked but firm. Endsheets show foxing as well as offsetting from glue and first free endsheet has previous owner's name in pen. Pages otherwise clean. A Very Good or better copy in a Very Good dust jacket.
Runyon's last book, a collection of his newspaper articles on the most scandalous true crime cases he covered, was published after his death from throat cancer. The Damon Runyon Cancer Memorial Fund still exists to support research into the causes and potential cure of cancer.
