N.p.: 1946. Original artwork (19x50.5cm.) on stiff card board signed at bottom margin "R. Olszewski." Light soil and toning to card, else Very Good and sound.

Original illustration to accompany Maurice Zolotow's short story "Beware Unfamiliar Spirits," which first appeared in the "Saturday Evening Post" on July 20, 1946. The illustration, by a Post regular, depicts a beautiful young woman in a purple housedress taking a drink, the smoke from her cigarette wafting into a cloud that seems to surround her. The left- and right-hand margins have the printer's blue pencil notes "Reduce to 6."' Zolotow eventually made a name for himself as a show business biographer, his 1962 work Marilyn Monroe being the first biography of the actress and the only one to be published in her lifetime.
