Bound in publisher's original paper-covered boards with paper title labels to spines. Light wear to spine and edges with brief exposure and bumping to extremities. Bindings sound. Contemporary bookplate to front pastedowns; brief pencil scribbling to same of volume I, else interiors unmarked. A Very Good set of MacFarlane's oft-reprinted work on all manner of brigands and thieves, with a initial focus on Italy though the second volume features chapters on Pindaris, Afghan robbers, Buccaneers of America, and Chinese pirates as well.
