Octavo; blue cloth boards stamped in gilt; 156pp. Corners are bumped with some soiling to boards, tiny closed tear to bottom edge of back board, wear to spine including faded gilt titling, chipping to crown and tail, pages are lightly toned with some pencil annotations, contemporary ownership signature to front flyleaf (see below), else a Very Good and sound copy.
Written by the 1950-1952 United States Poet Laureate with poems reflecting on the influence psychoanalytical writers like Freud had on the poet.
Provenance: Ownership signature of Babette Deutsch (1895-1982), the poet, translator and former professor of Lawrence Ferlinghetti at Columbia University.
