Born in Sweden and a wheelchair user from an early age, Lawson moved to the United States in 1886 and Pasadena in 1895, pursuing a gospel work the whole of her life. Lawson wrote for religious publications and penned an autobiography in 1920. This updated version expands upon her early life. A 1952 profile of the then 87-year old mentions she still wrote and made hooked rugs and afghans, one of which had won second place at a county fair the year prior. Three copies in OCLC of this edition, the entry for which hazards a 1942-1952 publication date.
