Illustrated dust jacket with $2.00 price present; brown cloth-backed boards stamped in black. Bottom 1/4" of jacket white, likely a production error and seen in a number of other copies; jacket otherwise edgeworn with a few short tears and some stray smudging. Boards bowing at fore-edge, with moderate edgewear, minor fraying at extremities and some general spotting to surface. Binding sound. Brief tape remnant to preliminaries; else interior unmarked; still a Very Good copy of the first book Sendak both wrote and illustrated.
