Dust jacket neatly split along rear spine edge, chips at spine ends and along top edge of rear panel, contemporary owner's ex libris to front pastedown, three different mid-century bookseller descriptions also mounted to front pastedown. Overall a Very Good example in a Fair example of the rare jacket.

Contents include three lectures, three fables, and the essay on the piracy of the fables, which reprints for the first time Mark Twain's letter to the editor of The Spectator (pp. 48-51).
