Black-and-white photographs throughout. Exterior toned, scuffed, and bumped with tears forming in several places. Final page shows dampstain and tape repair. Interior pages toned with occasional instances of ink transfer. A Very Good example.

Alan Kaprow coined the term “Happenings” and helped the associated artistic movement develop its guiding philosophy. This calendar offers a record of several such events, which were staged, participatory performances. According to Kaprow and his contemporaries, Happenings were designed to muddle the boundary between art and life. The calendar’s introduction states: “This is a calendar of past events. The days on it are the days of the Happenings. They were days off. People played.”.
