Inscribed and signed on front free endpaper, "To Ed with best wishes, Jeff / 1/73," accompanied by a fairly large cartoon self-portrait. Together with a letter on Richmond News Leader letterhead also addressed to Ed (evidently a fellow cartoonist): "Thanks so much for sending along your stuff on Israel. I confess I was not as industrious as you were. Your sketches are fantastic."
