Photomontage poster accompanying this pseudo-annual avant garde festival founded by the cellist and performance artist Charlotte Moorman (1933–1991). The Festival, which ran fifteen times in eighteen years, featured the musical offerings of the Fluxus movement as well as kinetic and video art. Among the artists whose work was featured in 1972: Ay-o, Allen Ginsberg, Jud Yalkut, Jackson Mac Low, Jim McWilliams, John Cage, Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik, and many, many others. This year’s festival advertised as taking place in New York City, Albany, and “hopefully” Poughkeepsie, with some events taking place on a passenger steamboat on the Hudson River.
