Wraps bumped at spine ends and corners. Binding sound. Textblock, endsheets, and interior pages toned. Very Good early work by this underground comix artist.
Dal Tokyo was first published as a weekly strip in the LA Reader and later picked up by Japanese reggae magazine RIDDIM. This volume is its first serialized appearance. Set on a post-apocalyptic Mars inhabited by Texan and Japanese workers, Panter’s absurd, imaginary world mingles his real-life southern upbringing (“Dal” is short for Dallas) with his escapist obsession with Japan.
As of May 7, 2026, we locate three total copies in OCLC and two in the United States, at NYU and the Ohio State University.
