Oxford: Printed for J. Newbery at the Bible and Sun in St. Paul's Church Yard, 1751. Later Edition, "The whole Revis'd, corrected and greatly improv'd." 12mo; full contemporary calf, five raised bands and remnants of hand-written paper spine label, edges sprayed red; xxiv,viii,168,[4]pp., collated and complete with publisher's advertisements in rear. Light wear to edges; corners bumped; brief exposure to top corners; spine rubbed; crack at bottom of front joint but binding otherwise sound; ownership inscription of a Mrs. Dalton dated 1790 to preliminary; toning to edges of endpapers, else unmarked.

A Very Good copy of More's hugely influential social and political satire; the author's ongoing influence was described in Printing and the Mind of Man thus, "He is a saint to the Catholic, and a predecessor of Marx to the Communist. His manifesto is and will be required reading for both, and for all shades of opinion in between."
