Together with a somewhat sarcastic and revealing autograph letter signed and dated May 10, 2002, to Joel Dailey, editor of the Fell Swoop poetry journal, with postally used envelope. Saroyan congratulates Dailey on finding a copy of Ted Berrigan's "The Sonnets." "I wish Ted had *given* me that hardcover copy of 'The Sonnets' so then I could sell it to that idiot for $30,000. It's an association copy, apparently, *sans* the association as it were. (Hey, I'm kidding. I dearly loved & love Ted). Anyhow, congratulations. That's a real coop [sic] - sort of *the* book of my youth and a lot of peoples [sic]." In a postscript Saroyan offers Dailey a signed copy of this issue of Poetry magazine, "It was my literary debut."
