Boards bright with some rubbing to extremities. Corners lightly bumped. Slight lean to spine. Binding sound. Pages are clean and unmarked. Overall, book is in very good condition with like jacket.
Signed without inscription by Toni Morrison on title page. Ownership stamp appears twice on front free endpapers for Chester Higgins, likely the New York Times photojournalist who photographed Morrison in 1970. Higgins worked for the Times for more than 40 years and is specifically known for his work documenting people of African descent. His 1970 photograph of Morrison was included in his exhibition "Black Pantheon" held in 2023 at The Bruce Silverstein Gallery in New York.
