Photomontage poster accompanying this pseudo-annual avant garde festival founded by the cellist and performance artist Charlotte Moorman (1933–1991). The Festival, which ran fifteen times in eighteen years, featured the musical offerings of the Fluxus movement as well as kinetic and video art. Among the artists whose work was featured in 1978: Ay-o, Jud Yalkut, Jackson Mac Low, Jim McWilliams, John Cage, Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik, Eileen Miles, and many, many others. The festival’s penultimate gathering and the only one to take place outside of New York. Organized in conjunction with the Cambridge River Festival, then in its second year.
