Printed slip notes that in 1978, this poster was recognized for design excellence by that year’s International Design Competition sponsored by the New York Type Directors Club.
Delightfully graphic poster accompanying this pseudo-annual avant garde festival founded by the cellist and performance artist Charlotte Moorman (1933–1991). The Festival, which ran fifteen times in eighteen years, featured the musical offerings of the Fluxus movement as well as kinetic and video art. Among the artists whose work was featured in 1978: Ay-o, Jud Yalkut, Jackson Mac Low, Jim McWilliams, Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik, and many, many others.
