Light shelf wear, spine cloth a bit sunned and gilt dulled, boards very slightly bowed, textblocks foxed. Overall Very Good and sound.

Memoir of the author's second trip to Europe made in 1851 after retiring from an exceptionally distinguished academic career--Silliman was responsible for establishing the science department at Yale. The plates feature views of the Alps, Mount Vesuvius, and a map of the hills of Ancient Rome.
