Rare Chinese-Canadian trade catalog issued by Linwood Company, silk importers and specialists both in Chinese embroidery, custom-made outfits, and uniforms. The preliminary leaves describe different fabrics and styles entirely in Chinese, including hosiery, linens, dress shirts, and embroidered casual and evening wear. The latter half of the volume, targeted at a white clientele, provides instructions on ordering in English with different types and cuts for sleep ware and uniforms for maids, nurses, and members of the restaurant service industry. Interestingly, all the models photographed appear to be of European descent.
