Contemporary price rubberstamp to front free endpaper. Very Good overall, though lacking the second volume in the set.

The jacket title continues, "3000 B.C. to 1946 A.D.," the contents divided both chronologically and geographically. The first half of the volume devoted to "Celebrities Before Christ" before moving on to Asia and Africa before concluding with Europe (St. Maurice of Aganaum only).
