Previous owner’s signature in black ink at ffep verso. Very Good.

Photographs of quotidian life in Harlem, New York alongside text from the Federal Writers Project, a New Deal-era program which ran 1935–1943. These images, taken between 1932–1940, coincide with Aaron Siskind’s membership in the Film and Photo League of New York. The League was a cooperative of photographers that sought to document and improve social conditions through their work.
