Kitty Unfoiled: An Informal Portrait of the American Secretary
Pittsburgh, PA: Reuter & Bragdon, 1952. Fine / Very Good. Item #47954
Pittsburgh, PA: Reuter & Bragdon, [1952]. First Edition Stated. Octavo (22cm); publisher's cloth in pictorial dust jacket; viii,154pp.; illus. A few shallow chips and tears to jacket margins; a Fine copy in Very Good jacket.
Complete guide to success for the mid-century American secretary, from how to behave at your first interview ("Do wear your least fussy dress or suit...Don't oversell yourself"); to the finer points of work-place mating ("...even if our secretaries are marrying younger, there is no cause for panic among the older girls"). Though the book is breezily written, the author does offer occasional genuine insight and makes apposite reference to contemporary statistical data. Probably a better book than it needed to be.
