Slim, oblong quarto (22.5x30cm); publisher's tan pictorial cloth; [16]ll., including fifteen unnumbered black and white photographic plates (collated complete). Cloth rather worn and soiled, textblock separated from binding, contemporary rubberstamp to title page of the P.T. Jackson Company in Boston, "exclusive selling agents in the United States and Canada for J. Planta & Co." A Fair to Good copy at best, though contents remain clean and bright.
Quite a beautiful trade catalog of Egyptian cotton manufacturing from its transport by camel as seed cotton to the arrival at the Planta factory in Magaga with internal views of the ginning room, as well as outdoor shots of children picking and hand-cleaning the cotton under the unshaded Egyptian sun.
OCLC locates two copies in North America as of May, 2026, at the American Textile History Museum and Cornell.
