Octavo; full contemporary mottled sheep, black gilt spine label; 661pp. (collated complete). Leather a bit rubbed and dried at margins with fairly extensive surface scratches to both boards, textblock uniformly browned, bottom half of front free endpaper torn away. Still a Good to Very Good example, contemporary ownership signature of a Benjamin Almy to front flyleaf.

Oft republished and imminently useful household reference work, with sections on mixing paint; staining glass and porcelain; brewing; winemaking (quince, orange, parsnip); perfumes and cosmetics; and remedies for various ailments, including those of postpartum mothers (sore breasts, milk fever, etc).
