Quarto (25.5cm); publisher's brown post-bound card wrappers printed in gilt; title page and thirty (30) leaves of stiff black stock to which are mounted twenty-eight gelatin fashion photographs captioned in white ink manuscript. Wrapper margins a bit rubbed, occasional white ink splatters, else Very Good, contents just about fine.
Fun and fashionable trade catalog of Turkish leather goods, especially outerwear and knee-high boots, priced for the tourist market in US dollars. The tannery was located in Kazlicesme, Istanbul's center of leather production since the middle of the 15th century when it was assigned for slaughtering, tanning, and chandlery by Mehmed the Conqueror.
The first twenty-one images in this catalog feature the same young woman modeling seventeen different coats. The reminder feature a male model, who got to try on just four leather coats, a pair of patent leather loafers, and a travel bag.
