A popular account of the life of Charles George Gordon (1833-1885), who participated in the Crimean War and led the Ever Victorious Army of Chinese soldiers who put down the Taiping Rebellion. This copy in a handsome prize binding for the Truro School. Inoffensive mid-20th century ownership ex libris to front pastedown as well.
