Bible in Scots Gaelic bearing ownership marks of Séan Cronin, journalist and former officer in the Irish Army. Cronin twice served as the Chief of Staff of the Irish Republican Army during the 1950s. He was imprisoned for his involvement with the IRA and left the group after his release. Cronin relocated to the United States in adulthood, where he resumed his journalism career as the Washington DC correspondent to The Irish Times.
