Morganton, NC: Published Periodically in the interest of the Morganton Missions by the Rev. George Hilton, B.A., L.Th., (Durham, England) Priest-in-Charge, 1917. First Edition. Octavo bifolium (26.5x17.25cm); photographs of the St. Margaret's Day School and of a "Mountain home." Light rubbing and wrinkling; horizontal mail folds; overall Very Good and sound.

An unrecorded leaflet relaying news on the Cotton Mill Workers Mission, The Mountain Missions, and the St. Stephen's (colored) Mission, in and around Morganton North Carolina. The newsletter touches upon World War I, acknowledging the need to for Belgian, Armenian, and Syrian relief funds, though cautioning that the work of the Red Cross should not displace support for the Mission. The St. Stephen's Colored Mission is in want of a "colored worker" to lead it, and here gives updates on the ongoing search for one.

The isolated mountain communities also remain in search of a school teacher after Miss Kilburn had to depart, apparently leaving the local schoolchildren "awful lonesome." A rare look into a small but determined community; we find no record of this publication in retail, auction records, or institutional holdings.
