The earliest UK book club edition, issued a year after the first. Foyles' had originally requested permission to use the same dust jacket art as the first Jonathan Cape edition, but Fleming's agent Michael Howard voiced his concerns about "letting their printers get their grubby fingers on your paintings." Permission was not granted and Cuthill was brought in to design this moody alternative. Two of the stories, "For Your Eyes Only" and "Risico" formed the basis for the 1981 film starring Roger Moore.
