Dawn of the Dead promotional photo [Signed and inscribed by 8 to Nick Tallo]

[New York]: [The Laurel Group], 1978. Very Good +. Item #49757

[New York: Laurel Group], 1978. Promotional black and white photo (8.75”x11”). Montage of film stills with Dawn logo. Signed and inscribed by Tom Savini, David “Flyboy” Emge, David Early, Ken Foree, Marty Schiff, “Helicopter Zombie” Jim Krut, “Machete Zombie” Leonard Lies, and Tony Buba over their respective images to perennial Romero crew member Nick Tallo, whose motorcycle raider (aka the seltzer bottle biker) character is also in a montage frame with Tom Savini’s Blade. Faint rubbing at bottom corners, with some toning to verso.

From the estate of Nick “Bomba” Tallo (1947-2022). A mainstay in Pittsburgh film and television production, Tallo worked, most often as a grip or gaffer, on Romero’s films from Knightriders through Two Evil Eyes, Savini’s Night of the Living Dead remake, and on dozens of films and television series, from Sleepaway Camp and The Mothman Prophecies to The Dark Knight Rises. Occasionally he would snag a bit role as well. His long-standing job was with Pittsburgh PBS station WQED spanning almost 30 years and 570 episodes as floor manager on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, where he was known and beloved for his humor and regular on-set pranks.
