Deville in New Orleans, according to this booklet, Sir Lady Java would eventually become an iconic trans performer in the LA scene of the 60s and 70s as well as the first transgender individual defended by the ACLU when the Los Angeles Police Department sought to shut her performances at Redd Foxx's club down, citing a local ordinance. Includes a several paragraph description of one performance in an LA Club. No copies in retail and we locate two holdings in OCLC at University of California, Irvine and University of Michigan, and possibly two others in Sir Lady Java collections at Syracuse and Harvard.
